What can be considered as one of the best 3D printer kits that was released in mid-2017-2018 were the CR-10 & CR-10S. There is no doubt that most of the commonly used consumer 3D printers come from Creality 3D. As the top manufactures of 3D printers, the brand has held up its credibility by creating some of the best 3D printers and upgrading its CR-10 models. Many of you may be wondering if there is any significant difference between the CR-10S and the Cr-10S Pro. As part of our commitment to ensure that you purchase the perfect printer for all your 3D printing needs, we have taken the liberty to put together a comparison report for your satisfaction.
For starters the CR -10S is shipped pre-assembled, all that needs to be done for printing to start is for the Z-axis to be mounted on the base and connection of the cables. It also has a dual Z axis lead screw rod which provides better quality print and more stable prints. The CR-10s has ergonomic leveling nuts which allows you to level the bed by hand.
Some of the modifications that have been made for the CR-10S are as follows:
- Dual Z-axis upgrade installed
- Package in three parts just requires to 10 minutes to assemble
- Industrial-grade PCB can continuously print for 200 hours with reliable and stable performance.
- External Control Board: The RAMboard and controls are now located in a separate external “brick”. For electrical safety with the heated bed the CR 10s uses MOSFET.
- Better Z- Axis: The 10s offers a second rod for the z-axis which results in a more reliable build quality.
- Superior aluminum extrusions are selected (for use keep sure of sturdy construction and consistent usage)
- Filament detection and resume printing
- Ergonomic level nuts – this allows you to level the bed with your hands.
- Removable Glass Bed: The glass bed can be removed to pluck the prints easily off the bed.
Creality Cr 10s Pro
Molding Tech. FDM Printing Size: 300x300x400mm Printing Speed < 180 mm/s, Normal 30-60 mm/s Slice Thickness 0.1-0.4mm Nozzle Temp <260 C , Bed Temp. <110C Power Supply Input: 100-240V 5.9A 50/60Hz Output: DC24V 21A Filament Diameter 1.75mm
In comparison to the CR-10S Pro there are 9 functional upgrades that have been added to the CR10S – Pro. The CR -10S Pro has an elegant appearance backed with a sturdy frame. The CR-10S Pro is versatile and an upgraded version of the 10S designed for a more professional use. The 10S Pro can execute the demanding projects of your choice.
Some of the modifications that have been made for the CR-10S Pro are as follows:
MATRIX AUTOMATIC LEVELING:
CR-10S Pro features an inductive proximity sensor, gifting the printer the ability to automatically detect the bed and assist in reading a matrix of points across the bed for bed leveling.
More intelligent 3D printer Creality 3D V2.4.1 motherboard Four-layer PCB board, support mechanical screen and two kinds of touch screens, use solid-state capacitor filtering to increase ESD static protection, performance is more stable and reliable, TMC ultra-quiet drive 256 subdivision, print more precision.
IMPORTED TEFLON TUBE:
CR-10S pro boasts Capricorn Teflon tubing – possibly the best option for filament feeding in this way, due to high lubricity and high-temperature resistance.
Gone is the dot matrix LCD of the CR-10S, replaced by a vivid touchscreen unit and simplified UI.
RESUME PRINT FUNCTION:
The CR-10S Pro will be able to pick up printing from where it left off after a power cut.
As with the CR-10S that precedes it, the CR-10S Pro features filament runout detection – again a welcome feature on long filament guzzling prints.
DOUBLE GEAR EXTRUSION MECHANISM:
One of the more exciting hardware upgrades is the addition of a Bondtech-like dual gear feed in the extruder. Such a system should result in a more reliable and stronger feed of filament into that shiny new Cap’ tube.
QUICK HEATING PRINT BED:
CR-10S Pro’s heated bed can heat up to its max temp of 110 degrees Celsius in 5 minutes. The output rating of 24V should confirm this to be the case.
BRANDED POWER SUPPLY:
CR-10S Pro shows a Mean Well power supply, a reputable brand that’s known for the reliability and safety of their PSUs.
Either printer will provide reasonable prints, whether you are using it for recreational use or for professional use. The CR-10S Pro is equipped with more features than the CR-10S and therefore comes with more options and printing flexibility. It would be recommended to get the CR-10S Pro due to the upgraded features.
